∙CA$H onlyReserving flash
∙At this time, flash can be selected in person at Grim Heart Tattoo through consultation or on the day of a confirmed appointment. Walk-ins are welcome, but subject to my daily availability. Please call the shop or contact me directly to schedule time.
∙I am happy to discuss making a flash concept a custom piece unique to you.Custom work
∙Please be as clear, decisive, and detailed as possible in your request. Rough estimates of size and placement are very helpful. Go ahead and include any reference images/materials that you feel help describe your idea. It is also important to know if you have other tattoos or recent scarring in the immediate area. Please also note that the work I create will always have my hand and style in it.
∙Custom pieces are best suited to those who know what placement they want and what is important to them about the tattoo.❧Consultations can be requested, and may be recommended depending on the scope of work.❧I am currently focusing on bold designs with striking details that are influenced by traditional tattoos and folk art. I most enjoy working with themes from classic tattooing as well as myth, folklore, folk magic, the occult, and elements from the natural world.❧If you have opted for a custom appointment, I will have a finished design/color study prepared when you arrive for your appointment. You may request minor/reasonable changes to the design, play with scale, change placement, try on the design via stencil, or cancel your appointment if unhappy with the design (for day-of cancellations, I keep the deposit as a drawing fee). If I am asked to make extensive changes to the design, a reschedule may be required due to time constraints. I will then keep your deposit as a redrawing fee.❧I do not send previews of any kind for any appointment type or dollar amount, and definitely not before a deposit is made.Cancellation Policy
∙Deposits are non-refundable.
∙Failure to show for an appointment or give 48 hour notice of an intention to cancel will result in the loss of your deposit.
∙Two reschedules per deposit. If you must reschedule for a third time you will need to put down a new deposit.
∙If you no-call-no-show me, that’s it, ya blew it. You’re 86’d. We will not be working together in the future. Communication is easy and available through multiple channels, there’s no excuse for this.Touch-Ups
∙Touch-up work is free - please send me a photo or description of what needs work and I'll get you set up with an appointment ASAP.Booking Prioritization
1) Current/regular/OG or otherwise amazing clients I've already built a relationship with.
2) Flash/Predrawn work
3) Customs that align with what I am most interested in working on. I am being more selective as these projects take a lot more brain power, time and energy.
4) People who are new to me/no pre-existing relationship of any kind.
5) Serial reschedulers, last minutes cancelers, reschedules, poor communicators, or folks who otherwise makes things unnecessarily difficult.
On the day of
∙Please arrive on time. Not early, not late. If you are 20+ minutes late, you forfeit your appointment, and will need to reschedule.
∙Arrive rested, in good health, and hydrated. Be sure to eat a meal beforehand. Avoid blood thinners such as aspirin, alcohol and caffeine.
∙Bring a valid, government-issued photo ID showing you are 18+
∙Refrain from using topical numbing agents prior to your appointment. The FDA warns to avoid them due to dangerous health effects. They are also difficult to work with, causing the work to suffer. I do not use them, I do not recommend them; I will not tattoo skin where these products have been used.
∙Due to space limitations, we cannot always accommodate additional guests where tattoo procedures are taking place. If you need someone for assistance of any kind, we do have a waiting area that they are welcome to hang out in when things are busy. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have mobility needs/questions or want to double check about space/accessibility at all!
∙Please come prepared to pay CA$H.❧The shop and I retain the right to refuse service to anyone we feel should not be tattooed. If you are intoxicated, underage, or an insufferable jerk you will be refused service.
Dermal Bandage (clear adhesive sticker)
∙Can be left on for up to 5 days. If it begins to leak fluids excessively, peels back so the tattoo is exposed, or you experience any irritation, remove it.
∙With clean hands and warm water, carefully pull the bandage off and discard it. Try to take it off in the shower if you can.
Standard Bandage (absorbant or film)
∙Leave on overnight unless instructed otherwise.
∙Wash hands thoroughly before removing the bandage.
After Removing Bandage
∙Give the tattoo and the surrounding area a gentle wash with warm water and a mild, liquid, fragrance-free soap such as Dr. Bronners. Use only your fingers, no washcloth or other abrasive materials.
∙Avoid drying your tattoo with linens. Either let it air dry or gently pat the area with a clean paper towel.
∙Apply a thin layer of fragrance-free lotion such as Cetaphil, Lubriderm, or Aveeno. You may also use an ointment such as Aquaphor, or any other ointment designed for tattoo aftercare. Ointments go a long way and are easy to over-apply!
∙It is important to not over-saturate the area with products. Your tattoo needs air to properly heal just like any other wound. The less lotion, the better. Give your tattoo a chance to dry out after a shower before using a moisturizer on it.
∙Do not use Neosporin. Please do not use special facial or beauty creams on your tattoo.
∙Repeat the above for ~2 weeks or until the scab has come off.
∙Sleep on clean sheets and wear clean, loose, breathable clothing during healing.
∙Do not pick your scabs ☻
Avoid until tattoo is healed
∙Direct sunlight, tanning beds, spray tans, or direct contact with animals. Avoid swimming, soaking, and saunas. Showering is not an issue.
Ongoing care
∙Once your tattoo is healed, use a sunscreen that is at least 35 SPF and keep your skin moisturized.❧Remember that the life of your tattoo depends on the care it receives during the healing process. Use common sense.
